Product code/SKU
This page will guide you through the importance of unique codes on all products.
As we are processing thousands and thousands of articles on a daily basis, across a growing number of warehouses, identification is crucial. To optimize your own sales and flow of goods, please read this carefully and remember to demand these if needed from your procurement source as well!
Product code/SKU
Every product needs to have a unique product code/SKU. This code is imported to myOGO from your online store by integration, .xlsx import, or manually creating the product data. When the goods arrive at the warehouse the product code and EAN code are the key elements used with the product name to identify the right products. Matching the product data 100% with the product markings is the key to a smooth flow of your goods. Please find more details on .xlxs import and manual creation of products here.
The code needs to be clear, short, and attached to each product. It can contain letters and numbers but do not use special characters like / or \ in product code. A good code could look something like "shirt-345678-XS".
In case you would at any point need to change the product code/SKU, kindly contact service@ogoship.com for assistance. This will need to be manually adjusted for all systems and will be done with an additional charge.
EAN code/barcode
EAN code or barcode is mandatory in all our warehouses as it will narrow down the possibility of mistakes.
In most online stores there is a place for an EAN code and it is imported along with other product information. If you create products with .xlsx import or manually in myOGO please remember to add the info about the EAN/barcode to product data.
Note! If your products don't have a barcode or product/SKU-code attached, the warehouse will label the products with an additional charge as per our price lists.
If you change the EAN code in your online store, the code also needs to be changed also in the warehouse's WMS. If you need to change an EAN/barcode on your items kindly contact us at service@ogoship.com and provide the following details: product name, product code/SKU, old EAN code, and the new EAN code. Please note there will be additional charges for changing product data manually.
