With OGOship pickup points, your customers choose a pickup point or parcel locker in your web shop's checkout. You don't need a separate pickup point app or plugin. The order comes to OGOship with the chosen point and delivery type already set.
You set the shipping methods and their prices in myOGO, not in your web shop.
Before you start
Shopify
- Your Shopify plan must have carrier-calculated shipping. You get it with the Advanced plan or higher, with Shopify Plus, with yearly billing, or as a paid add-on.
- The OGOship app needs Shopify's shipping permission. If your integration was connected before pickup points were available, reauthenticate it once (see step 2).
WooCommerce
- You need the latest version of the OGOship for WooCommerce plugin and of the integration. Instructions for upgrading the plugin will be added here.
- In WooCommerce, add the OGOship shipping method to each shipping zone where pickup points should be offered: WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → (zone) → Add shipping method → OGOship.
Both
- The delivery types you want to offer must be activated for your account. If one is missing from the list, ask OGOship customer service to activate it.
Step 1: Open your web shop integration
In myOGO, go to General settings → Ecommerce integrations.
Step 2: Reauthenticate (Shopify only, if needed)
Find your Shopify or WooCommerce integration. If your Shopify integration was connected before pickup points were available, click Reauthenticate and approve the new permission in Shopify. myOGO also shows a notice in the pickup point settings when the permission is missing.
Then click Settings.
Step 3: Turn on pickup points at checkout
On the integration page, find the Pickup points at checkout section.
- Show at checkout: turns the OGOship shipping methods on or off in your checkout.
- Price currency: the currency of the prices you enter. Use your store's currency: WooCommerce does not convert prices.
- Alternate pickup points of different carriers: when you offer several carriers, the list alternates between them (for example Posti, GLS, Posti, GLS) instead of showing one carrier's points first.
Step 4: Add shipping methods
- Add pickup points: a shipping method that shows the nearest pickup points of one carrier. Only delivery types with pickup point search can be chosen.
- Add home delivery: a regular shipping method for delivery to the customer's address, priced the same way.
Add one shipping method for each carrier and delivery type you want to offer.
Step 5: Set the zones, delivery type and prices
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Shows or hides this shipping method at checkout. |
| Ships from warehouse (WooCommerce only) | The OGOship warehouse that sends the orders. |
| Shipping zones | The Shopify or WooCommerce shipping zones (countries) where this method is offered. In Shopify, choose at least one zone. In WooCommerce, an empty selection means every zone that has the OGOship shipping method. |
| Delivery type | The OGOship delivery type the order gets. |
| Name before the point (optional) | Shown before the point's name at checkout, for example "Posti – K-market Etu-Töölö". |
| Description | Shown under the method at checkout, for example "2–4 business days". |
| Pickup points shown | How many of the nearest points are listed. |
| Parcel lockers / Service points | Which kinds of points are shown. |
| Show distance after the point name | Adds the distance from the customer's address, for example "K-market Etu-Töölö (850 m)". |
| Price by order weight | The price from a given order weight up. Click Add weight tier to add another tier, for example 0 g → 3.90 and 5000 g → 6.90. |
| Free shipping from order value | Above this order value, the method is free. Leave it empty if shipping is never free. |
| Phone number required | The customer must give a phone number. Some carriers require one. |
| Limit visibility | Optional limits: show the method only for some countries, weights, order values or postcodes, or never for some postcodes. |
Click Save at the top of the page. In Shopify, the status line then shows which shipping zones the methods are live in.
Step 6: Test your settings
The Test pickup points panel at the end of the page shows what your checkout would list for an address. Enter the country, postcode, city, street address, order weight and order value, and click Search. The test uses the shipping methods as they are on the page, so you can try changes before you save. It does not check shipping zones.
Which carriers support pickup points
Pickup points at checkout work with these carriers and delivery types, if they are activated for your account:
| Carrier | Delivery types | Countries |
|---|---|---|
| Posti | SmartPOST (2106), Postipaketti (2103), PickUp Parcel (2351) | 2106: FI; 2103: FI, AX; 2351: SE, DK |
| Matkahuolto | Lähellä-paketti (80) | FI |
| GLS | Euro Business Parcel (GLS), Shop Delivery (GLS.shop), Denmark Shop Delivery (GLSDK.shop) | FI, EE, NO, SE, DK and most EU countries |
| PostNord | MyPack (P19), MyPack Parcel Locker (P19.Box) | P19: SE, DK; P19.Box: SE, DK, FI |
| DB Schenker | Collection Point (SCP), Parcel ombud | FI |
| UPS | Standard, Express, Express Saver, Expedited (UPS Access Points) | Depends on the service |
| Evri | Standard 48, Global Connect DDP | GB, IE |
More carriers will be added. Bring Pick-Up, Omniva, Budbee Box and Instabox are pickup point delivery types, but their points can't be shown at checkout yet.
Good to know
- Pickup points are found from the customer's postcode and city. Before the customer enters an address, only home delivery methods are shown.
- If a carrier's pickup point search doesn't answer in time, checkout still shows your home delivery methods.
- If you change your shipping zones in Shopify, check the zones of your shipping methods in myOGO and save again. myOGO shows a warning when the zones have changed.
